SaaS development for non-technical founders
Many SaaS founders come from sales, operations or the industry itself, not from coding. We work as your tech team and explain every decision without jargon.
We help businesses across multiple industries build scalable, secure and future-ready digital products. Our team combines deep technical expertise with industry knowledge to deliver custom software solutions that drive growth.
Let's Talk
The exciting part of a SaaS is the idea. The tiring part is everything around it: workspaces for each customer, plans and invoices, onboarding emails, permissions, the admin panel. Softfix builds all of that, so you can spend your time on the thing customers actually pay for.

Non-technical founders
Many SaaS founders come from sales, operations or the industry itself, not from coding. We work as your tech team and explain every decision without jargon.
Early-stage startups
A SaaS development company for early-stage founders has one job: get you to real users before the runway does something scary. Lean scope, fast releases, clean code an investor's CTO won't frown at.
Enterprises
For companies turning an internal tool into a product, or adding a new product line. We cover SSO, audit logs, data residency and the security questionnaires buyers send.
Teams, seats, admin roles, invoices with GST or VAT, and an API your customers' developers can use. Sales cycles are long, so the demo needs to be rock solid.
Lots of small accounts, self-serve sign-up, monthly UPI or card payments. If sign-up takes more than a minute, many people drop off, so we keep it short.
Custom SaaS development isn't only about features. As a SaaS software development company, we handle the product engineering underneath too: tenants, billing, permissions, deployments. That's the stuff that decides whether your SaaS platform development survives year two.
The core workflow, sign-up and billing. Enough to charge your first ten customers, nothing more.
Tenancy model · database layout · queues · caching · documented decisions
Shared database, schema per tenant or database per tenant · trade-offs explained · picked to suit your customers
Stripe/payment gateway integration for SaaS · plans · trials · coupons · upgrades · prorations · failed-payment retries
Onboarding flows · dashboards · design system · usability testing
REST or GraphQL · API keys · rate limits · webhooks · developer docs
Query tuning · caching · load balancing · usage spikes handled
Access controls · encryption · audit logs · audit evidence · works with your compliance partner (SOC 2, GDPR)
Single-tenant to multi-tenant · old stack to current stack · customers keep working
Reseller logos, colours and domains · one shared codebase
Containers · managed databases · autoscaling · AWS, GCP or Azure · costs that grow with revenue
Preview environments per pull request · one-click releases · fast rollbacks
Pretty much any developer can build a CRUD app. What makes SaaS different is a list of things that look small on day one and turn out to be expensive to bolt on later. We plan for these upfront.
Our default stack, when you don't have one
If you don't have a preferred stack, we normally use Node.js and React for SaaS development (Next.js for the front end, NestJS or Express for the back end) with PostgreSQL and Redis. Microservices architecture for SaaS comes in only when one part of the product needs to scale separately.
One customer must never see another's data. Sounds obvious, gets missed surprisingly often.
Per seat, per usage, tiered or hybrid. Changing it later is painful, so we design for change.
Sign-up, invite teammates, sample data, first win. This is where trials convert or quietly die.
Owner, admin, member, viewer, and custom roles once bigger customers start asking.
Your own front end uses the same API customers will, so integrations come almost for free.
10 to 10,000 customers · same foundations.
Encryption · backups · deletion on request · security questionnaires.
Several small releases a week · no maintenance downtime.
Churn · MRR · ARR · tracked from launch · investor-ready reports.
Pricing page · transactional emails · product analytics · help docs.
These are the six stages we go through, from checking the idea to growing the product. The timings below are what a typical B2B SaaS MVP takes. Yours may differ depending on scope.
A few workshops to agree on who the customer is, what problem you solve for them, and what they'd pay. If version one looks too big, we'll tell you.
Clickable prototype of the core flow plus onboarding. Show it to a handful of target customers before code.
Tenancy model, billing provider, hosting and CI/CD decided and set up. Boring choices, on purpose.
Built in two-week sprints with a demo after each one. Billing, user roles and onboarding are built at the same time as the main feature.
Beta customers first, then public. Analytics, emails and help docs switched on. Then we watch closely.
We release small updates every week, guided by usage and churn numbers, and add server capacity once demand grows.
Three things drive most of the cost: how complex the main feature is, how many user roles there are, and which integrations must be ready at launch. Multi-tenancy and billing take some extra effort, but adding them later costs much more. After that, the main decision is how you'd like to work with us.
| Fixed-cost vs dedicated team SaaS development | Fixed-cost MVP | Dedicated SaaS development team |
|---|---|---|
| Best for | A clear, well-defined first version | Ongoing product work after launch |
| Price | Agreed upfront, paid by milestone | Monthly, based on team size |
| Changing scope | Via change requests | Reprioritise the backlog any sprint |
| Your involvement | Sign-offs at each milestone | You (or your PM) steer week to week |
| Risk sits with | Mostly us | Shared |
Hand over the whole build, from scoping to launch. Many founders start here, then switch to a dedicated team once the MVP is live.
React, Node.js and DevOps engineers who've built multi-tenant products before. They join your Slack and standups and work only on your product.
Who's the customer, what problem does it solve, and roughly when do you want to launch? Half a page is plenty. We'll reply within a working day to set up a scoping call.
